It had to happen at some point….. roughly 3 days ago Yanik’s Photo School got a bug. The only page you could access was the index page.  All other links were corrupted.

The thing is that I was on a shoot and then went directly out of town for the weekend none the wiser. Boy was I surprised when I accessed YPS on Saturday to find out it was down! PANIC! I tried installing a backup… nothing.  I tried re-posting some content…. nothing. I googled far and wide in cyber space to find any hint… nothing. I called my server to see if they had done something… nope.

It was only today that I finally found out what had happened. The htacces file had vanished. How and why is still a mystery since I hadn’t touched YPS before the event. The happy thing is that all is back in order!

Udi over at DIYPhotography.net sent me a Bokeh Masters Kit a while back and asked me to play around with it and give him my impressions. I actually wrote a detailed review for all of you back in December.

If you’re too lazy to read my review, I can sum it all up by saying that it’s a unique camera ad-on that’s well worth it for anyone looking to produce original and creative imagery.

I don’t remember that last time I did some self portraits. It’s the old photographer’s dilemma… always behind the lens and never in front of it! Since I live about a block away from my good buddy and fellow pro photographer Martin Perreault, he usually takes my photo.  But this time around, he was away on a 3 week trip to Australia and I really wanted to update my blog photo on the ABOUT YPS page.

I decided to make this a fun time and turn this into a mini fashion shoot with some of my recently acquired threads. So I cranked up the tunes, set my D300s on a tripod with a 10 second timer and shot away! It took about 2 hours in total with 163 shots taken. Out of those shots I liked 22.
