Well, I’m back from sunny California and for a first trip down there, I have to say that I had a blast! The weather was perfect for the 7 days I was there and my friend Kerri was the best hostess and guide.

I visited Huntington Beach, Santa Monica, San Diego and, of course the L.A. zoo and aquarium. I did find out after that the San Diego zoo was much better but I didn’t have the time to squeeze it in since I spent a whole day hunting and capturing my very new Nikon D300s! I got one of the first 3 in California! Woohoo! But I digress….

I thought I would share with you some of my favorite shots since I recently posted a tutorial on taking perfect zoo photos.

I would also like to point out that I used the Lightroom split toning effect that I showed you on those gorilla headshots. What a poser! I also used the high pass filter in Photoshop for sharpening the web images to  get as much detail as possible. The rest was basic post processing adjustments.
