ps logo How to Use the Refine Edge in Photoshop Video TutorialToday’s Photoshop video tutorial is all about the Refine Edge tool. The Refine Edge tool made its debut in Photoshop CS3 so if you’re using an older version, you won’t have this tool to play with.

If you’re a stock photographer shooting  isolated people or objects, I think that after watching this video, you’ll want to upgrade to CS3 or CS4 if you haven’t already done so. :) I use this tool all the time when I want to refine my object’s edge to remove unwanted jagged edges or halos caused by light reflecting off the white background. If you’re having problems having your images approved to the various stock agencies because of poor isolation, then this refine edge tutorial is for you!

I won’t go into how to select an object in this tutorial since there are many ways to do this including using color range. Ok, let’s get to it! Enjoy!

    Great tutorial! Definitely up there with the most useful for me.. I’ve had a few isolation rejections in my time :P
