Yanik’s Photo School Wants Your Opinion

What would you like to learn about?

That’s the question I ask myself every few days. I really want to give you, my fellow reader, what you would most like to see. I want you to be a sponge and soak all my posts up!

So I’m asking you to take action! You’ll see on the sidebar menu a poll box. All you need to do is vote. One click, that’s it. 2 seconds of your time.

This will really help me out on getting the right content out to you. So don’t be shy. Just one tiny vote is all I ask. 🙂

Thank you!

    Thanks for the compliments Khuram.

I’ll be using Premiere because my friend knows it inside out and he’ll be teaching me. 😉

  2. Hi Yanik,

Hey can i add you as a contact on my flickr? anyone else want to join me?
my flickr name is “EemoUK” 🙂

Shame im not in the same area as you, otherwise, i would be more than happy to help you out, and i also have a video camera 🙂

Im sure Adobe Premiere wont be too difficult to learn for someone as talented as yourself 🙂 But did you know there are some very good alternatives out there? Final Cut Pro to name just one.

    Anyway,
Thanks for replying so soon. I really like it that you engage with your readership. the content is very good on its own, but the fact that you interact with your visitors definitely adds a new dimension.

I found this blog literally 60mins ago. Im hooked and here to stay!

It’s coming! I’m in the process of hunting for a video camera. I borrowed my friend’s camera while in Gaspésie and I have 2 short vids for you guys. Now I have to learn Adobe Premiere! It might take a few weeks but I’ll get them on eventually! 🙂

  4. Hello there 🙂

I love your work. To be honest, there are so many things i want to learn about, but right now, i think composition would be a really good one, and you know also how to make photos interesting in terms of peoples mood and expression.

How about filming a “fly on the wall” live photo shoot?

    Right from inception to completion?

So you meet your subjects, setup the lighting, take the shot, and then process in Lightroom?

    Just a suggestion 🙂

    Thank you for listening 🙂

  5. all of the above my friend!
they are all that I am learning about right now, just started to use Nikon cls and find it fascinating but not sure if I’m really doing it right….not too bothered about lightroom, it’s a pretty easy program, would prefer more about post in photoshop…there’s a look I’m after for weddings but just can’t seem to get it!

  6. Gah, I don’t own a flashgun so I voted for the money making! Some tips on stock would be cool..

Perhaps your workflow Yanik? From shooting to processing to uploading and keywords. That would be helpful.

  7. Do we have to chose only one? hehe! I would love the first 3 Yanik (since I’m using Aperture instead of Lightroom). The flash and photoshop tutorials were very interesting and helpful and hearing from your experience in stock photography would be great too since I’m in it for not even a year yet.

    Thanks!
    Eric

  8. LOVE this site! I found the pearl diver really interesting, more Photoshoptricks please! How to use high pass, how to sharpen up in the best way, how to get colours blasting etc!
